Who you are agreeing with

Using the app or this site means accepting these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use Sterza — there is no version of the product that sits outside them.

Your account

You need an account to publish a road, record a run or join an event. You must be a licensed driver and at least [16]. One person, one account; keep your sign-in to yourself, because anything done through your account is treated as done by you.

You can delete your account at any time. What survives deletion is set out in the privacy policy — in short, a published road that other drivers have times on stays, unlinked from your identity, because those times are theirs.

What you may not do

Most of this is what you would expect. The road-specific items are not boilerplate and we do enforce them.

• Break the law with it. Speed limits, road traffic law and trespass rules apply to you exactly as they did before you installed anything.

• Publish a road you know to be private land, a school zone, or otherwise unsuitable — or re-publish one that has been removed for those reasons.

• Submit a run you did not drive, or one recorded by falsifying location.

• Use Sterza to organise or promote street racing, or to compare times on a road where competition is switched off.

• Scrape, resell or redistribute other people’s traces, times or profiles.

• Interfere with the service, or try to reach data the database has not granted you.

We can suspend or remove an account, a road or a run that breaches this, and we can hide a reported road while we look at it.

Your roads, runs and traces

What you record stays yours. To run the product we need permission to store it, process it, and show the parts that are public — your published roads, lap times and profile — to other people. That permission is limited to operating and improving Sterza and ends when you delete the content, except where a published road has other drivers’ times attached.

We do not claim ownership of your traces and we do not licence them onward. The privacy policy is the binding statement on who can see what.

Plus, billing and the founding price

Plus is a paid subscription. Prices shown on the site are with VAT included where applicable. Payment is made in advance, either annually or monthly, in advance through the payment provider. Nothing is charged until the app opens.

The founding price is held for as long as the subscription runs without lapsing; if it lapses, the then-current price applies. You can cancel at any time and keep Plus until the end of the period you have paid for. Refunds: are being offered via our RevenueCat subscription provider.

Consumer law in several markets gives cancellation and refund rights that override whatever is written here. Those rights are not affected by this section.

Events and organisers

Events are listed by their organisers. Sterza is not the organiser, does not run the session, and does not verify insurance, scrutineering or track licensing. A verified-organiser mark means we have checked who they are, not that we stand behind the event. Your arrangement on the day is with them.

Availability and changes

We will keep the service running as well as we reasonably can, but it is not guaranteed to be available or uninterrupted, and features can change. A material change to these terms is announced in the app rather than quietly dated here, with 30 days before it takes effect.

Liability

Sterza is a tool for reflection and for driving better. It is not a safety system: it does not see the road, does not know about traffic, weather, surface or closures, and cannot intervene. Cues are advice computed from the road and your car, and what you can see always wins. How you drive is yours.

. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Governing law

These terms are governed by local law, with disputes heard in court. If you are a consumer, this does not remove the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in.
